The Interview Series: Matthew Velardi

Matthew Velardi is a talented Account Manager here at PIMM.

Where are you originally from?

I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Cortlandt Manor, New York. I am a triplet and the youngest out of the three.

How did you get started in tech account management?

I had an internship in Marketing and received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, In which I decided to pursue a career as a Digital Marketing Account Manager. I learned about SEO and Marketing Concepts in college where I developed a passion for the subject.

Have you always been interested in technology?

I have always found technology intriguing. As I grew up there was a huge amount of development for the tech industry. I am fascinated by what we have been able to accomplish as a human race regarding the evolution of tech.

How have you seen the tech world transform throughout your career?

Throughout my career, there have been many changes to tech. Tech now affects every aspect of our lives. SEO is something that helps businesses communicate with Google so that we can now communicate with a search engine as opposed to traditional marketing efforts in the past.

Where do you think technology is headed next?

Technology is headed in an interesting direction. Not only are we going to be able to use these sources of tech to discover new information but we will also be able to communicate with Artificial Intelligence. This will absolutely alter how humans interact with machines permanently.

What do you think technology has forever improved about our lives/society?

Technology has definitely made our lives easier. One thing about tech is that it is ever expanding. This allows for new growth in almost all aspects of the field. I believe that tech will serve as beneficial for our standard of living going forward. Society as a whole relies on tech to provide answers and even complete services for our daily function as humans.

What are some of your favorite websites you've seen and why?

My favorite website is Youtube. Youtube allows people to express themselves in a creative way displaying content for users to share with each other. I have learned from Youtube and have been able to self-teach myself many things over the years. Youtube’s website makes it easy for you to find content that you will enjoy and continue to watch as entertainment.

What do you think the 3 main components of successful design are?

To me, the three main components of successful design are organization, creativity, and usability. Making for the ultimate user experience.

Besides technology and sales, what are some of your hobbies?

In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching basketball, working out, and spending time with my friends and family.

Do you have a favorite show these days?

I don't really watch TV Shows, but I enjoy purchasing the NBA package every year so that I can watch all of the games. My brother and I enjoy watching them together.

Do you have a favorite book?

My favorite book is the Great Gatsby. I read it in High School. I actually enjoyed the movie as well even though it was a little different.
